For the fifth time, the Cluster of Excellence Quantum Universe invites applications and nominations for its Beate Naroska Senior and Junior Guest Professorships. Applications and nominations are welcome until 15 December 2024.
Since 2020, the Cluster of Excellence Quantum Universe annually awards two guest professorships to outstanding women scientists. They address advanced women scientists as well as established researchers in the fields of physics of the Higgs boson, dark matter, gravitational waves and quantum theory, who actively engage in gender equity and diversity. The selected researchers will be awarded 7,500 Euro (senior) and 5,000 Euro (junior). They are invited to spend up to six months in Hamburg and to be part of the scientific activities of the Cluster of Excellence Quantum Universe.
The award bears the name of particle physicist Beate Naroska, who conducted research at the University of Hamburg, DESY and CERN and made pivotal contributions to particle physics using data from the ISR, PETRA and HERA accelerators.
