New at Quantum Universe or about to join? We are happy to welcome you to our cluster of excellence! Here is some information to help you getting started.

Our offers and services are open to all researchers at the University of Hamburg and DESY working in the fields of Astrophysics, Mathematical Physics and Particle Physics. As the largest third-party funded research project in Hamburg combining the three fields, it is our goal to foster fruitful collaboration and exchange in an open, diverse and excellent scientific environment.

About Quantum Universe

Quantum Universe offers

The Research School, cluster events and services are open to all scientists from Astrophysics, Mathematical Physics and Particle Physics. Whether you have a cluster-funded position or not, you are welcome to benefit from our offers and actively engage in our scientific community.

Quantum Universe Research School (QURS)

QURS is the structured career support programm for all junior scientists in the fields of Astrophysics, Mathematical Physics and Particle Physics at the University and DESY and offers a cutting-edge curriculum of scientific and key skill courses.

QURS Days

QURS Days take place once a year and offer a program exclusively for junior scientists in cluster related research fields. The agenda comprises scientific talks as well as workshops related to career development and key skills.

Early Career Councils

The Early Career Council is the self-organization and representation body of the early career researchers and the place for you to engage in shaping the research school. The council sends one representative per status group to the cluster's Steering Commitee.

Diversity Offers

The cluster's Diversity office offers a broad range of formats and events on diversity, gender equity, mental health and compatibility. You are welcome to get in touch and benefit from workshops, counselling and support!

Quantum Universe Days

Three times a year, the Quantum Universe Days bring together our research community for both an exchange on ongoing research in the fields of Higgs Physics, Gravitational Waves, Dark Matter and Quantum Theories, and networking & socialising.

The Quantum Universe Research School (QURS)

QURS is the structured career support programm for ALL junior scientists in the fields of Astrophysics, Mathematical Physics and Particle Physics at the University and DESY. If you have a cluster-funded position in a University or DESY group, it is mandatory to enrole in QURS.

  • Cluster of excellence

    Clusters of excellence are funded by the DFG (German Research Foundation) within the german Excellence Strategy.

  • QURS

    Quantum Universe Research School, the structured career support program for early career researchers in CHAMPP.

  • CHAMPP

    Center in Hamburg for Astrophysics, Mathematical Physics and Particle Physics, one of six core research areas at UHH.

  • University of excellence

    As a University of Excellence, UHH enjoys funding from the Excellence Strategy of the Federal and State Governments.

  • UHH
