PIASTA is a program run by the Department of International Affairs. Each semester, the PIASTA tutors welcome all students to the University through the Welcome Week event and, with about 100 events, help to create a platform for intercultural exchange and transcultural life at University of Hamburg.

LGBTIQA* stands for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex, Queer and Asexual. If you are part of the community or would like to show your support as an ally, you are invited to join UHH's Science and beλond – the LGBTQIA* network. There will be regular social events, informative impulses, empowerment and awareness workshops.

The Network against Abuse of Power in Science is an association of scientists of different disciplines from universities and research institutions. It was founded by scientists who have experienced an abuse of power in the scientific system and aim to create a broader awareness of the issue. The network offers information and independent advice for people who feel affected by abuse of power within science.
