Prof. Dr. Erika Garutti has been the spokesperson of the Cluster of Excellence Quantum Universe since July 1, 2022. She takes over from Prof. Dr. Jan Louis. In addition to the change in the leadership of the cluster, there are also new appointments to the Quantum Universe steering committee.
Particle physicist Prof. Dr. Erika Garutti is the new spokesperson of the Cluster of Excellence Quantum Universe. Exactly halfway through the funding period of the DFG-funded research project, she took over from Prof. Dr. Jan Louis on July 1. Together with the previous co-spokesperson Prof. Dr. Géraldine Servant as well as Prof. Dr. Timo Weigand, who succeeds co-spokesperson Prof. Dr. Peter Schleper, Erika Garutti was elected as the new spokesperson team by the members of the Cluster of Excellence. Jan Louis and Peter Schleper will continue to contribute to the Quantum Universe research program as principal investigators.
With the change in the leadership of the Cluster of Excellence, there were also changes in the steering committee. Erika Garutti's previous function as coordinator of the platforms is taken over by Prof. Dr. Gregor Kasieczka. Prof. Dr. Vicente Cortés now leads the research area "Quantum Theories". The new director of the Quantum Universe Research School is Prof. Dr. Dieter Horns. His successor as head of the research area "Dark Matter" is Dr. Kai-Schmidt-Hoberg. Prof. Dr. Freya Blekman was elected as the new Outreach Director.
