Science Chatter Hamburg, a Blog run by early career researchers from DESY, Universität Hamburg and partner institutions, recently launched their new podcast series in which each episode features another researcher.
Science Chatter Hamburg was created in March 2021, when PIER organized their first Science Communication workshop. In the course of this workshop, participants created their own blog posts with the help of Michael Büker, physicist and successful science communicator, as well as Theresa Schredelseker, molecular biologist and science blogger. “This workshop was a blast and we are amazed by the results”, says Büker.
Now PIER’s science blog ventures new grounds with “Science Chatter Hamburg: We go Podcast!” Between September 21 and 24, the PIER Education Platform hosted their second Science Communication workshop during which they recorded podcast episodes with each of the seven participants. “After some amazing cutting and mixing by our podcast host Michael, we are excited and super happy to publish them on the Science Chatter Hamburg website on a weekly basis, from Nov 3 until the end of the year 2021”, says Theresa Schredelseker.
In Science Chatter’s fourth podcast episode, Caroline Heneka, astrophysicist and postdoctoral researcher at Quantum Universe, talks about new telescopes and how to look for the first ever stars and galaxies. Stay tuned for three more exciting episodes featuring Quantum Universe researchers Pranjal Trivedi, Oindrila Ghosh, and Philine van Vliet.
